In August 2025, I made my dream come true by opening my own shop, Mirthe’s Cottage, right in the heart of Delft, on the Voldersgracht 23 (you’re always welcome to stop by!).
Before opening my shop, I ran a webshop, and ever since I started my business at sixteen, I’ve spent a lot of time at markets and fantasy fairs.
I’m an avid reader and a big fan of fantasy. The books you’ll find in my shop are all personal favourites or titles that sit high on my own TBR (To Be Read) list. Curious what my favourite books are? I'll tell you more about them below!
Besides books, I have a deep love for nature and all things creative. I’m always experimenting with new techniques and materials; something you can clearly see in the products I make. I often work with epoxy resin, dried flowers and other natural materials, spend plenty of time behind the sewing machine making worry pets and book sleeves, and craft miniatures like the 5-star bookshelves with lots of love and attention.
Bit by bit, the Cottage is growing into a place filled with stories, stones, and unique handmade products.
Everything I create is made with care and love, and I hope you can feel that when you step inside.

“Plenty of time for a cup of tea. Then we find ourselves a ghost.”
In a London overrun by ghosts, only children and teenagers can see and fight the dead. Lucy Carlyle, a young and talented agent, moves to London hoping for a notable career at one of the major agencies, but ends up at Lockwood & Co. instead. The agency, run by the charismatic Anthony Lockwood and his second-in-command George Cubbins, is the smallest, quirkiest, most disorganised (but undoubtedly the best) agency in the city, and operates without adults.
When one of their cases goes horribly wrong, Lockwood & Co. have one last chance of redemption. Unfortunately this involves spending the night in one of the most haunted houses in England, and trying to escape alive.
What starts with one case quickly grows into something much bigger as the series progresses, with secrets that run deeper than just the ghosts themselves.
What is at least just as fun as the spooky ghosts, is the amazing found family dynamic between the main characters Lucy, Lockwood, and George. Their chemistry is just as addictive as the mysteries and ghosts. The atmosphere is exactly my thing: a perfect mix of high stakes, suspense and scary ghosts on one side, and delightful dry humour and a surprising amount of cosiness on the other.

“Isn't that what I just said?”
In the criminal underworld of Ketterdam, Kaz Brekker is offered an impossible job that, while life-threatening, will earn him more money than he ever could have dreamed of. At first glance, Kaz’s team of thieves, convicts and runaways seems like a motley crew.
During their journey, they must trek through Fjerda and are threatened by another gang pursuing the same goal, as well as by Grisha who have developed an almost impossible, explosive power thanks to a mysterious drug. Oh, and they also have to try not to kill each other.
The atmosphere is dark and sharp, with complex characters who all carry their own scars and secrets. The found family dynamic within the group is incredibly good (you might have noted by now that found family is my favourite trope) and the dialogue is razor-sharp.

“Legends are dangerous, Bree. Don't underestimate them.”
After the loss of her mother, Bree Matthews ends up in an early college program at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she experiences a magical attack on her very first night on campus. A mysterious teenage mage who calls himself a "Merlin" attempts, and fails, to erase Bree's memory of what she has seen. Besides being able to remember everything, the Merlin has also awakened her own hidden magic.
After suspecting they had something to do with her mother’s death, Bree finds herself infiltrating the hidden world of the Legendborn, where King Arthur's legacy proves to be very much alive. But this secret society is not without rules and a history that has not always protected everyone. As she goes deeper and deeper into their world, she becomes entangled in something much bigger than herself.
The atmosphere of these books is powerful and emotional, with themes such as grief, identity, and the legacy of racism and slavery, intertwined with magic and action. Bree and the other characters are very well and strongly written, each with their own story (and once again, this one has a bit of that found family vibe too).
